Like Father, Like Son

at Ungargasse 38, Academy of Fine Arts Vienna

On a flatscreen hanging from the ceiling, reminiscent of those seen in betting shops and retail stores, the silent video installation »Like Father, Like Son« shows media reports and news headlines. At its center are two seemingly opposing organizations: the exploitative sports retailer Sports Direct and the liberal London community radio station Radar Radio. »Like Father, Like Son« gradually reveals that they are not fundamentally different brands, but rather a family-run business. Using aesthetic parallels as a starting point the installation explores the workings of both organizations and examines their social and economic contexts.
