Cold Crystal Timbres

»Cold Crystal Timbres« is a 30-minute mixtape created for the exhibition "Cybernetics Of The Poor." It pays homage to a generation of artists, event organizers and labels who, in the early 2010s, both addressed and leveraged the increasing commodification of the internet through their aesthetics and networking practices. The hybrid club music that emerged during this time is characterized by cold digital sounds, high-resolution samples, and nostalgic pop references. »Cold Crystal Timbres« references these sounds and places their queer origins at the forefront.
